Your hosts, June and John Meehan have been running Halifax Nova Scotia’s pet friendly “Elephants Nest” vacation Bed & Breakfast since 1997.

This was always a dream for June, as being a “Navy wife” she had to pack up and move every few years. Coming upon retirement after John’s 39 + years in the Royal Navy and Canadian Navy we decided it was time to live our dreams.

We both enjoy meeting people and advising them on attractions for their daily jaunts. We are conveniently located near Historic Halifax and eastern shore attractions such as Sherbrooke Village Museum, Lawrencetown Beach a surfing paradise and Musquodoboit harbour. Nearby trails offer a truly pristine and healthy opportunity to discover our natural environment.

Elephant's Nest B&B

June’s breakfasts are served from 7:30-9:00 a.m. and consist of fresh-brewed coffee, an assortment of teas, sumptuous home baked muffins baked daily, choice of fruit juices, home made jams, jellies and marmalades, prepared fresh fruit, and a daily hot entrée.

On your arrival tea and coffee (and ice) are always available – just ask. In the evenings we serve a hot beverage and a snack around 8:30 p.m. There are also extensive “reference” materials to help you plan your stay, and for your added entertainment there is a good assortment of VHS and DVD movies available.

We have a "Guest Computer Workstation" equipped with a Scanner, Printer and Speakers. In addition, we have a High Speed Wireless LAN throughout the house. For those with laptops without a wireless card we also have a "Wireless Bus Card" to allow you to get "connected".

Our resident “greeters”, Annie-Mac and Ruby will always be on the front deck to herald your arrival. Annie-Mac, our Westie is five years old and Ruby, our Scottie is four.

We are a “Pet-Friendly” accommodation; however, advanced reservations are required and pets are only allowed in the main floor suite - The West Wing. We do not charge for pets.
